Slovenian Respiratory Society, together with the Slovenian Association of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Immunology Society of Slovenia, a Professional group of nurses and health technicians in pulmonology in association with University Clinic Golnik, University Clinical Centre Ljubljana and University Clinical Centre Maribor organizes the 8th Slovenian Pneumology Congress joined with Allergology and Immunology congress. The main aim of the Congress is to bring together respiratory and immunology medical doctors, nurses and researchers from the region and offer an opportunity to present the results of scientific and clinical work. You are kindly invited to attend the Congress and participate actively by submitting abstracts for poster and oral communications.
World Bronchiectasis Conference
The 7 th World Bronchiectasis Conference scheduled to take place in Dundee, Scotland from July 4 to 6 , 2024. The last years have been amazing for the bronchiectasis international community. EMBARC and National Registries contributed to clarify epidemiology, providing us precious insights on the natural development of the diseases, on comorbidities, on the most common management approaches in the different countries and the priorities to be set in research to improve the quality of life of patients. Multidisciplinary approach, physiotherapy, precious tools to improve the patient journey, are, in some countries, well established, while in others they still have a long way to go to succeed in being included in the healthcare standard for bronchiectasis patients.

ERS EBUS- part 1
Registrations are open for the upcoming EBUS Part 1 course. These courses will take place in Heidelberg and Amsterdam. EAACI Congress 2022

Pneumo Update 2019
This year the fifth "Pneumo Update Europe" shall take place on June 14 and 15, 2019, in Prague, Czech Republic. The program encompasses carefully selected , contemporary subjects from the respiratory pathology. For the first time this year, the lectures shall be available free on-line, on demand , for the delegates of the meeting.

Comparative effectiveness of budesonide/formoterol combination and fluticasone/salmeterol combination among chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients new to controler treatment: a US administrative claims database study
This study compared the real–world effectiveness of approved budesonide/formoterol combination (BFC) and fluticasone/salmeterol combination (FSC) treatments among matched cohorts of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients in a large US managed care setting. This study demonstrated no difference in COPD–related exacerbations or pneumonia events between BFC and FSC treatment groups for patients new to ICS/LABA treatment in a real–world setting.
